Flood Insurance For Your Car
Do you know that your comprehensive private car insurance does not automatically cover perils such as flood, storm, landslide, landslip and other convulsion of nature? One most common occurrence of such perils is flood.
With flash floods being, what now a normal occurence for us Malaysians (like the one on Tuesday that created havoc across town and caused even the LRT to a standstill and left many stranded), getting an additional coverage against flood damage is essential and prudent. If your car is parked at a high risk area/prone to flood, you might want to consider buying an additional flood damage cover.
The premium for this additional cover is 0.50% of your vehicle sum insured. Flood damage cover protects against damage to your car caused by flood, typhoon, hurricane or storm.
If you don’t have this coverage, just make sure that your car is parked on high ground and make sure the ground is stable! You might avoid flood but what about landslide?

Thanks for the reminder. I better check into the insurance policy..
